Power of Observation

Thinking in Art, Lesson 2, Spring 2021

This project was refreshing. I think it's incredibly important for people to take moments to ground themselves within the area they live, and walking around looking at the contrasting relationships felt inspiring to me.

I recently moved to a neighborhood that feels like it's an abandoned construction site: our neighborhood's front entrance is littered with construction materials and debris, and sometimes I feel like it makes the whole area feel less than beautiful. Taking this walk helped me find some interesting relationships between line, color, pattern and shape that I haven't really considered here before.

My gathered images make me think of the term, temporary.
